Palmetto Venture Fellowship
The Palmetto Venture Fellowship is an annual program dedicated to educating and equipping current and potential investors to enhance the flow of capital to South Carolina–based companies. Now entering its fourth year, the Fellowship offers a three-part curriculum featuring best-in-class instruction on the complexities of early-stage investing. Through a comprehensive workshop series, participants gain practical exposure to the strategies and dynamics that drive successful early-stage capital formation.
Workshop Curriculum

This workshop will offer a general overview of angel investing and create a baseline of the various topics we will discuss throughout the program.

Participants will take a comprehensive look into early-stage valuations and why they are critically important.

Participants will dissect a term sheet and discuss the variations in the market, as well as the implications term sheets, have on an early-stage investment deal.

This workshop will take a deep dive into the confusing world of Cap Tables, a topic that every investor MUST understand in order to be successful.

Teaches the fundamentals of due diligence and how a standardized methodology will serve investors well.

Board service can be fulfilling, yet confusing. This workshop will take a deep dive into the intricacies associated with early-stage boards and how to be an effective representative for shareholders.

Participants will be given information and taken through actual case studies on how investors derive returns in this asset class.

This workshop will summarize the entire curriculum and walk participants through detailed “what next” scenarios, which include the various ways to engage as investors via funds, angel groups, etc.
