The Palmetto Beacon Venture Fellowship (PBVF) is a first-of-its-kind program designed to educate and empower a new wave of investors in early-stage life sciences ventures. Through an immersive experience led by top industry experts, Fellows will gain the tools and knowledge to strengthen investor ecosystems across the Southeast and Northeast.

What You'll Learn

This bespoke curriculum includes core modules such as:

  • This workshop will offer a general overview of angel investing and create a baseline of the various topics we will discuss throughout the program.

  • Participants will take a comprehensive look into early stage valuations and why they are critically important.

  • Participants will dissect a term sheet and discuss the variations in the market, as well as the implications term sheets have on an early stage investment deal.

  • This workshop will take a deep dive into the confusing world of Cap Tables, a topic that every investor MUST understand in order to be successful.

  • Participants will be given information and taken through actual case studies on how investors derive returns in this early stage life science class.

  • Board service can be fulfilling, yet confusing. This workshop will take a deep dive into the intricacies associated with early stage boards and how to be an effective representative for shareholders.

  • This workshop will summarize the entire curriculum and walk participants through detailed “what next” scenarios, which includes the various ways to engage as investors via funds, angel groups, etc.
